Margaret Hamilton, chief organiser of the
2nd Tuesday Philosophy Forums.
|Marg Hamilton has lived and worked in Sydney all her life. Her background is steeped in public relations, organisation, records management, and administration, often working with high-profile organisations and individuals. |
Marg's organisational and public relations skills were sharply honed during the years she was personal assistant to Dick Smith. Her role included helping to coordinate Dick's expeditions and films, organising functions such as the opening of the Australian Geographic Centre, which was officially opened by the Hon. John Brown, MP and attended by many VIPs. Being involved in the conception and birth of the Australian Geographic Journal and liaising will people from all levels of business and the community was extremely interesting and very challenging!
She added to her public relations experience by working with Burson-Marsteller then Jane Singleton's public relations company - which included setting up and running Jane's speakers agency "Real Speakers".
She worked closely with Nancy Bird Walton assisting in promoting her highly successful book, My God! It's a Woman and her speaking engagements. On many occasions she has also worked with Kamahl on a variety of assignments.
She gained further experience with conferences and speaking engagements over her years with Christine Maher's "Celebrity Speakers", based in Sydney but engaging speakers for conferences and forums nationally and internationally.
For nine years Marg organised, and sometimes hosted, functions while assistant to Peter Joseph, Chairman of St Vincent's Hospital, The St James Ethics Centre, Helitech Industries Pty Ltd, The Black Dog Foundation and a long-time director of BT Financial Group.
More recently she set up her own business and consulted to a number of organisations and individuals over a wide range of industries.
